Royal Agricultural College, Harnhill Farm, Cirencester,
Gloucestershire GL7 5PU

Wednesday 27th June 2012, 10:00 - 15:30

Farm Open Day ‘Flock Science to Farmers’ & Farm Walk

Come and join us for an overview of our Harnhill Farm and its flock
performance.
During the day we will be covering a number of topics from creating
efficient sheep genetics for the future to ‘adding value’ to your
product. Slow roast barbequed lamb & Wagyu Burgers for lunch,
research displays from our students and Animal Logic on the gains
to be made from increasing rumen efficiency.

There will be presentations from experts in their field, small group
discussions, a farm walk, along with demonstrations from Shearwell
with their Weigh crates, Auto draft crates and other outdoor lambing
products including visual and electronic tags, a meat and quality
butchery demonstration and a chance to use a Backfat Scanner.
There will be plenty of time to discuss your ideas with all of the
experts and researchers.

We also have some local prime Wagyu beef cows for viewing as
one of the speakers will be discussing relevant cattle genetics and
integration with sheep systems.
