Choose Cornish Awards launched

Cornwall Food & Drink, in partnership with Cornwall Chamber of Commerce, is proud to launch the Choose Cornish Awards. The awards will celebrate the businesses in the county who go to the greatest lengths to ‘buy local’ and make a real difference to the community and economy of Cornwall in doing so. This is a unique opportunity for those working in the catering, hospitality, tourism, service provider and retail sectors in Cornwall to be applauded for supporting fellow Cornish businesses. The Awards deadline is 12 July 2013 and shortlisted entries announced over summer. Winners will be revealed at the awards ceremony on Monday 23 September 2013.

Award Categories:
• Best Cornish Business Collaboration, sponsored by Cornwall Chamber of Commerce - Cornish businesses that can demonstrate, through a partnership, how they work together to achieve shared goals and mutual benefits that have made a real difference to the Choose Cornish Campaign.
• Choose Cornish Every Day Champion, sponsored by Cornwall College – a local retailer embracing the Choose Cornish philosophy and demonstrating a commitment to supporting local suppliers and encouraging customers to do the same.
• Real Cornish Breakfast Champion Award, sponsored by First Great Western – a business or chef who has gone the extra mile to ensure their breakfast exceeds expectations in quality, choice and service, whilst also championing local sourcing.
• Truly Cornish Café Trail Champion, sponsored by Cornish Mutual - Cafés that pride themselves on sourcing ingredients locally, with an emphasis on great food and service.

There will also be a Champion of Champions Award, sponsored by Cornish Mining World Heritage Site, in recognition of the business bringing about a real change in our relationship with local sourcing and embracing the Choose Cornish campaign to the fullest.
