DASH for smallholders

Devon Association of Smallholders - DASH

Objectives and Organisation of the Association

DASH was established in 1986 to serve the needs and interests of smallholders and those planning to undertake any kind of country living. It promotes and furthers the interests of smallholders particularly in Devon and the South West and co-operates with other like-minded organisations. It offers members a forum for discussing problems or matters of mutual interest, and runs low cost practical training courses to provide members the knowledge and skills needed for running a successful smallholding.

The Association encourages members to carry out their smallholding activities in an environmentally friendly way and to breed and grow their animals in an humane and caring way.

DASH put on large number of fairly inexpensive courses. Click here for the current list: http://www.devonsmallholders.co.uk/training.html

Membership is open to anyone interested in the Objects of the Association. Owning a smallholding is not a prerequisite for becoming a member. Individual smallholders and intending smallholders come from a wide variety of backgrounds and interests. Former or present occupations include housewives, builders, civil servants, bank staff, journalists, business managers, solicitors, professors, engineers, farm workers, scientists, doctors and nurses.
