At this evening's meeting the Parish Council agreed to call a public meeting (initially scheduled for the evening of 20th November in the Legion Hall) to guage actual sustainable demand for provision of allotments.
Apparently one or two land owners have indicated a potential interest in making land available and the Council Chair indicated that even if only six people were really committed he felt the Council should move to the next stage of provision and negotiation. (9 people have written to the Council indicating a desire) The new Councillor, Barry Jordan, unfortunately stressed the fact that once land is designated as Allotments it is very difficult for a landowner or lessee to de-register the land.
Very good news, I feel on the whole
