Date and time: Wednesday 17 September, 7.45 - 10.00 including optional site tour
Cost: Free (funded by Ready for Retrofit)
Book here: https://regensw.eventhq.co.uk/attendees/add/event:site-visit-to-alliance...

This free breakfast meeting and site visit is your chance to find out about this important refurbishment of a social housing site to improve energy efficiency performance.

Learn about an energy efficiency refurbishment of 63 properties in Portishead that have become challenging with high fuel costs, fabric issues and situated in an high wind exposure area. Delegates will hear from experts on energy efficiency refurbishments, contractors and the client as well as see measures in-situ.

Alliance Homes are carrying out a £1m refurbishment of Mendip Rd to tackle energy efficiency and tenant comfort. Alliance Homes are looking to improve the properties from either G, F, E or D rated to C or B rated, dependent on the archetype and variant.

The buildings provide many retrofit challenges, including that these properties are exposed to significant wind and have defective cavity insulation which is having a detrimental impact on the thermal effectiveness of the properties. The works include an innovative guttering manufactured by RW Composites which reduces thermal bridging.
Solid wall insulation measures to all properties
Consequential works associated with Finlock Gutter removals
Loft insulation top ups to top floor flats and all bungalows
Replacement gas central heating systems to 13 properties
Utilisation of Combisave device
2kWp PV Installations to all properties
Voltage Optimisation
LED Lighting
Energy and air tightness testing
After the presentations and discussion delegates will be taken on a tour of the properties to see the improvements at first hand.

The capital works are part-funded by the Ready for Retrofit programme as part of our work to stimulate energy efficiency and renewables retrofit works.

Speakers:
Mike Manning, Building Surveyor, Alliance Homes
Steven Stenlund, senior consultant, Energy Saving Trust/BRE
Mark Reed, head of renewables, Low Carbon Exchange
Ian Medcalf, Business Development, RW Composites
Sam Holman, regional manager, Alsecco UK

We hope to see you there.

Best wishes,

Alastair Mumford
