25Jan2014: Tavistock Energy Savers Eco Fair

Come and join us at Tavistock College at the Energy Savers Eco Fair – Sat 25th January – 10:00 to 16:00.

· Find out more about Tavistock College’s Solar Schools campaign launched today. The whole school is supporting a year of community fundraising for solar panels and a focus on energy awareness and reduction.
· Talk to more than twenty exhibitors from around the area with advice on conserving energy, renewable energy, woodfuel, electric vehicles and more.
· A programme of practical talks and workshops will run throughout the day, and an information and activity area for younger visitors is available– do bring them along.
· Delicious soup, cakes and drinks will be served all day at the event café.

The exhibitors include New Generation Energy (NGE), DARE (Devon Action for Renewable Energy and Celtic Renewable Energy and South West Water.

EV Friendly and EV Motion will be bringing along electric vehicles and charging points.
Plymouth Energy Community and the Community Council of Devon (CCD) can talk to you about energy switching and an oil buying co-operative (CCD).

Natural and innovative building materials and insulation will be on display from Mike Wye (not in person) and Mantle Building System.

Cosy Homes, Greenhus and RegenSW can advise on making your homes more energy efficient (retrofit).
Elaine Stoves, Shields DIY, NGE, Liz’s Logs, Bush Park and others can advise on wood stoves and boilers, woodfuel and its management.

LED lighting will also be on display from Pure Vision.
You can also learn more about a number of local community initiatives including Roots to Transition and Tavistock Woodlands Group.
