16Apr2013: Transition groups in Cornwall

Dear Transition Groups and Individuals,

Thank you for your positive response to the Cornish Transition Celebration! We are happy to inform that there will be representatives from at least 9 Transition Groups. We also received some valuable feedback on the program on basis of which we have amended the evening’s activities.

The goal of the evening is to explore where Cornish Transition stands at the moment, where it needs to go and how the university might support in that journey. We will provide a space for each group to reflect where they’re at, what their strengths are, and allow for some skill swapping. We will do so creatively and informally; so expect to be making and moving around! We will document the evening and draw up a brief report to be circulated among all the groups, including the ones that couldn’t make it.

Program:

18:00 – 19:00 Food: bring your own to share (We will provide drinks and have some pizzas ready if you have no time to cook).

19:00 – 20:00 Creative mingling and making: you will be invited to represent what your group does (best).

20:00 – 21:00 Gallery and exchange: opportunity to get to know the other groups, learn from each other and possibly join efforts.

21:00 – 21:30 Joint discussion and conclusion

Date: 16th of April

Place: AIR (Academy of Innovation and Research), Tremough Campus, Penryn

For catering and final planning we need to know how many will attend. We suggest a maximum of 5 representatives per group. Please register before the 31st of March by sending an email to ne138697@falmouth.ac.uk. If you register as an individual then let us know what hat you will be wearing on the evening.

Celebrating Cornish Transition sits within a larger week of events at AIR responding to and communicating climate change. This includes a themed exhibition and opportunities to get involved online such as a collaborative filmmaking project. Please see http://air.falmouth.ac.uk/research-projects/air-pressure for more information.

Looking forward to meet you all!

Do get in touch if anything is unclear.
