2Feb2010: Bude, extreme weather risk
What is this event?
Minimising exposure and interruption to economic pressures is critical to business success. However, it is increasingly important to prepare and protect your business against the interruption and cost from flood, wind and infrastructure damage.
This roadshow of events across Cornwall will help you plan for, and manage, the risks associated with more frequent and potentially unpredictable environmental events. At each event you will hear from a local business case study explaining how beneficial and cost saving planning and preparation can be.
What areas will the event cover?
. How to build business resilience and manage risk
. Identifying the segments of your business most exposed to risk
. How to assess potential impact upon building layout and location
. Managing direct and indirect interruption from weather events
. Insurance liability, premiums, levels of cover and 'red-lining' - the reduction of insurance cover for certain risks
. Preparing for the possibility that insurers may require those seeking cover to reduce the risk of claiming through mitigatory action
